ObamaCare Lies Exposed

Transcript of Obama’s statement at SEIU’s New Leadership Health Care Forum on March 24, 2007:

As I indicated before, I think that we’re going to have to have some system where people can buy into a larger pool. Right now their pool typically is the employer, but there are other ways of doing it. I would like to — I would hope that we could set up a system that allows those who can go through their employer to access a federal system or a state pool of some sort. But I don’t think we’re going to be able to eliminate employer coverage immediately. There’s going to be potentially some transition process. I can envision a decade out or 15 years out or 20 years out where we’ve got a much more portable system. Employers still have the option of providing coverage, but many people may find that they get better coverage, or at least coverage that gives them more for health care dollars than they spend outside of their employer. And I think we’ve got to facilitate that and let individuals make that choice to transition out of employer coverage.

The White House Cover-up:

“Hi. I’m Linda Douglass. I’m the communications director for the White House Office of Health Reform, and one of my jobs is to keep track of all the disinformation that’s out there about health-insurance reform. And there are a lot of very deceiving headlines out there right now, such as this one — take a look at this one. This one says, ‘Uncovered Video: Obama Explains How His Health Care Plan Will Eliminate PRIVATE Insurance.’

“Well, nothing can be farther from the truth. You know the people who always try to SCARE people whenever you try to bring them health-insurance reform are at it again. And they’re taking sentences and phrases out of context, and they’re cobbling them together to leave a VERY false impression. The truth is that the president has been talking to the American people a LOT about health-insurance reform and what is at stake for them.

“So what happens is that because he’s talking to the American people so much, there are people out there with a computer and a lot of free time, and they take a phrase here and there — they simply cherry-pick and put it together, and make it sound like he’s saying something that he didn’t really say.”

Obama Promotes Euthanasia in Healthcare Plan

President Obama suggested at a town hall event Wednesday night that one way to shave medical costs is to stop expensive and ultimately futile procedures performed on people who are about to die and don’t stand to gain from the extra care.

In a nationally televised event at the White House, Obama said families need better information so they don’t unthinkingly approve “additional tests or additional drugs that the evidence shows is not necessarily going to improve care.”

He added: “Maybe you’re better off not having the surgery, but taking the painkiller.

Gregg Cunningham of the Center for Bio-Ethical Reform blog had this to say about President Obama’s ominous comments during the “propaganda special extraordinaire:”

Who will decide whether “you’re better off” without the surgery? Not your doctor but Mr. Obama. Does Mr. Obama really know “who is about to die” and who “don’t stand to gain” from extra care? And what care is “extra?” As usual, Mr. Obama illustrates his point with a very dishonest, false dilemma. Of course you don’t do a hip replacement on his very elderly grandmother whose very aggressive and terminal cancer meant she might not have survived the surgery. But the type of treatment decisions often criticized by rationing radicals are seldom that obvious.

Mr. Obama is willing to interfere in the relationship between a doctor and his patient when the doctor is trying to save a life but not when the doctor is trying to take a life.

From the Canada Free Press:

But who is it that will present the “evidence” that will “show” that further care is futile? Are we to believe that Obama expects individual doctors will make that decision in his bold new government controlled healthcare future? If he is trying to make that claim, it is a flat out untruth and he knows it….

… [N]o doctor will be deciding if you are too old or infirm to get medical care. It will be a medically untrained bureaucrat that sets a national rule that everyone will have to obey. There won’t be any room for your grandma to have a different outcome than anyone else’s….

Ah, but we are told that Obama’s ideas on healthcare are “evolving”… [o]riginally, he said it was “healthcare for all,” but… It seems he’s “evolved” to say that only those worth the bother should get healthcare. The rest should be left to die and/or suffer….

The President’s health care plan is not being received within the general public realm. White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs blames the national protest on a vast right-wing conspiracy. He said K Street lobbyists were organizing the raucous town halls, where “angry mobs” are disrupting the “honest” conversations that Democrats are trying to have in their home districts. It’s “manufactured anger,” he told reporters yesterday. The Democratic National Committee agreed, saying, “The Republicans and their allied groups…Are inciting…A small number of rabid right-wing extremists…”

“When the Left protested the war with graffiti on the Capitol steps, it was “civic engagement.” When conservatives pose questions about what’s included in health care “reform,” it’s orchestrated thuggery. Michelle Malkin pointed out, “The DNC’s definition of ‘thoughtful’: Sitting silent about the lack of transparency, deliberation, truth in numbers…on the ObamaCare plan. The DNC definition of incitement: Asking out loud, ‘How can you manage health care when you can’t manage Cash for Clunkers?'” This is costing taxpayers billions of dollars. It is in a mess and facts reveal it will not improve the air we breathe! Plus, many excellent engines and parts are being destroyed. Everything reusable on a car has to be destroyed under this incentive.

CBS News:

CBS reports:  “Sadly, the cash-for-clunkers program requires that vehicles traded in have their engines destroyed. This will raise the costs of used vehicles for poorer Americans. It will also raise the cost of used U.S. vehicles around the world: Cambodians are less likely to upgrade to newer, safer, less polluting, and more fuel-efficient used Corollas.”

Blogger Ed Morrissey pulled a quote from the president’s campaign that demonstrates the desperation of this administration regarding issues. To usurp authority in his candidacy, Obama told his supporters to get aggressive. “I want you to argue with them and get in their face.” If this does not represent the forcefulness of this tyrant administration, I do not know what does.
