President Obama—”Jail Time” in Health Care Bill

Dear Readers,

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/21134540/VP/36037166#36037166 This is an informative MSN video regarding health care concerns. I am thankful many people are standing up against threats and violence. We must implement the political process for change.

People have been concerned about our president wanting people to serve jail time for not paying government health care insurance. We must hope if people cannot afford it, they will not be threatened, harassed or jailed. These are the projected costs:

“According to the CBO (Congressional Budget Office) analysis, the insurance plans the Senate bill would require families to purchase would cost an average of $15,200 per year in 2016. Average premiums among all types of plans in 2016 would be about $5,800 for single policies and about $15,200 for family policies,” CBO Director Douglas W. Elmendorf wrote in a letter to Sen. Olympa Snowe (R-Maine). Minimum coverage required by the individual mandate in the bill–known as the “Bronze” level insurance plans–would cost families an estimated $12,000 to $12,500 a year, Elmendorf told Snowe. Bronze level of insurance only covers 60% of medical services.”

http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalpunch/2009/11/interview-with-the-president-jail-time-for-those-without-health-care-insurance.HTML President Obama regarding jail time for not paying health care insurance—ABC News: “Under the House bill those who can afford to buy insurance and don’t’ pay a fine. If they refuse to pay that fine there’s a threat – as with a lot of tax fines – of jail time.”

“The Democrats passed this massive and oppressive bill against the will of the American people. Never in the history of this great country have so few threatened the freedoms of so many. This bill will burden the job-creating sector with a staggering $500 billion dollars in new taxes over the next 10 years, sapping the private sector of needed capital. Americans will be forced to purchase government-approved health care insurance – or face IRS fines and jail time. And generations yet to come will be stuck with a crushing debt. You cannot subsidize or give away health insurance to more than 30 million Americans and pretend that will reduce the deficit.”
___________

Gathered Facts from Health Insurance Reconciliation Bill:

“Imposes new marriage penalties because if two people make $32,000 per year, they would pay between $6,000 and $10,000 more for health insurance than before they said “I do.”

Current law provides important tax relief to Americans who suffer catastrophic out-of-pocket medical expenses, permitting a deduction for costs above 7.5% of income. The Democrats’ bill would raise that threshold to 10% of income in 2012 (2016 for seniors and the disabled). This is a particularly hard hit on those with the highest medical costs who can least afford to pay more taxes. And, according to the non-partisan Joint Committee on Taxation, more than 95% of the revenue generated from this tax increase would come from taxpayers earning less than $200,000.

Punishes investment in our economy. Under the Democrats’ bill, the Medicare tax would, for the very first time, apply to capital gains, dividends, interest, rents, royalties, and other investment income of singles earning over $200,000 and couples earning over $250,000. Currently, capital gains and dividends are taxed at a top rate of 15%, but those rates are already scheduled to rise in 2011 to 20% and 39.6%, respectively. When the expansion of the Medicare tax is coupled with the already scheduled rate increase, capital gains rates on these types of investment income, long-term capital gains rates would rise by almost 60% next year – from 15% to 23.8% – and the top tax rate on dividends would nearly triple – from 15% to 43.4%.”

Health Care Will Cover Abortion—Recognize the Facts

CBS News, March 22, 2010:  http://cbs4.com/local/health.care.reform.2.1580234.HTML “In addition, President Obama will issue an executive order that states no federal funds can be used to pay for abortions except in the case of rape, incest, or for the health of the mother.”

You see right here the lies of our president. We will be funding abortion. “Health of the mother” is a broad inclusive term. This means if a woman states she has a continual headache from being with child, she can obtain abortion coverage. This has always represented easy street murder.

This is the rule for the “health of the mother” clause: District Court, 319 F. Supp., at 1058. This has always been the legal standard. “The medical judgment may be exercised in the light of all factors – physical, emotional, psychological, familial, and the woman’s age – relevant to the well-being of the patient. All these factors may relate to health.” In other words, the “woman’s health” aspect could cover any stated reason for not wanting the child within. A woman could explain that her child will cause her emotional stress, she is not mentally able to be family minded…Any medical excuse is valid under this clause. No limits allowed. We will pay for abortions!

We cannot trust this administration to spout truth. Nevertheless, Christians must not cease praying for this administration. We are to honor our leaders and pray for them no matter how sinful their actions. Every person needs the LORD and everyone walks in self-deception before being washed in the blood of the Lamb.

Grace, mercy and peace in Christ Jesus who lovingly and uniquely creates every unborn child from conception, (1 John 5:10-13—the Bible)  paradise

Newsweek Article—It is Legitimate to Kill Granny

The Case for Killing Granny
I must tell you, I was quite disturbed to read the article, “The Case for Killing Granny,” in my father-in-law’s copy of Newsweek, dated September 21, 2009. This written defense was completely pro President Obama and his desire to NOT prolong the lives of the elderly and help save our government megabucks.  It spoke to our president and how he has informed us that the elderly take a large slice of our revenue. If we don’t spend our money on seniors, we can have more money, according to the article, which is obviously reinforcing our president’s stands.  It’s ok to divvy credit so people can own better cars and to assist Planned Parenthood, ACORN, etc…but don’t spend it on the aged.  Spend outrageous amounts of money keeping murderers alive, but kill innocent Granny.
This article also informs us that health care has to be rationed! So who do we ration? Those who can’t argue—those with little or no voice. This includes those classified in the area of special medical needs. Our present administration is very callous to those people they believe should have been aborted because they did not arrive perfect in form.  Those who own the best quality of life are those who deserve life, this appears to be today’s socialist/Marxist motto.
The Bible speaks of the wicked seeking to kill the innocent (Psalm 10:8-9) and that is the platform of our government administration. They want to kill the defenseless—unborn babies and the elderly. Christians certainly need to be in prayer for people in leadership to accept Christ as their Savior, and for justice to reign in our land.

Good and Bad Health Care Reform Facts

Good News—Your Voice Counts:

Associated Press reported the congressional computers are overwhelmed with messages regarding health care reform. Jeff Ventura with the House administrative office, said, “It is clearly health care reform. There’s no doubt about it.”

Senator Chuck Grassley (R) confirmed, his chamber’s Finance Committee dropped the controversial “end-of-life provisions” from its bill “because of the way they could be misinterpreted and implemented incorrectly…”

The debate regarding rationing and assisted suicide are pouring in the press and across the country. The U.S. House is not able to handle the large amount of emails.

Now is our chance to make health care work.

America’s health care system is broken. Health care costs are spiraling out of control, throwing families, businesses and government into financial crisis. Families are worried their health coverage won’t be there when they need it. Our country can’t afford to wait for health reform that keeps costs down and protects consumers.

We can’t wait for affordable, dependable health care.

We’re fighting for health care that will protect families’ financial health, lay out a clear path for all Americans to afford health care, and improve patient safety and quality care.

Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel:

Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel, President Obama’s medical guide for his Health Care Reform Bill, advocated a health care system in which services “should not be guaranteed” to anyone whose circumstances or conditions “[prevent them] from being or becoming participating citizens.” (The Hastings Center Report, November-December 1996).The question is posed, who defines a “participating citizen”? Would older or disabled Americans be excluded from care because they aren’t perceived by Washington as contributing members to society?

In a New York Post opinion article, Ezekiel Emanuel was described by Betsy McCaughey as a “Deadly Doctor.” The article, which accused Dr. Emanuel of advocating healthcare rationing by age and disability, was quoted from on the floor of the House of Representatives by Representative Michele Bachmann of Minnesota. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ezekiel_Emanuel

Dr. Emanuel also stated the health care plan should give priority to those who are “between roughly 15 and 40 years…”

Emanuel wrote in the Journal of the American Medical Association (June 18, 2009) that “Doctors take the Hippocratic Oath too seriously….”when it comes to doing “no harm.”

The Lancet, Volume 373, Issue 9661, Pages 423 – 431, 31 January 2009, Principles for allocation of scarce medical interventions. Govind Persad BS a, Alan Wertheimer PhD a, Ezekiel J Emanuel MD:

“Allocation of very scarce medical interventions such as organs and vaccines is a persistent ethical challenge. We evaluate eight simple allocation principles that can be classified into four categories: treating people equally, favouring the worst-off, maximising total benefits, and promoting and rewarding social usefulness. No single principle is sufficient to incorporate all morally relevant considerations and therefore individual principles must be combined into multiprinciple allocation systems. We evaluate three systems: the United Network for Organ Sharing points systems, quality-adjusted life-years, and disability-adjusted life-years. We recommend an alternative system–the complete lives system–which prioritises younger people who have not yet lived a complete life, and also incorporates prognosis, save the most lives, lottery, and instrumental value principles.

Obama’s Democrats Lie—Abortion Not Part of Health Care Reform

Because of recent high pressure from the public, the democrats are now saying the Health Care Reform Bill, HR 3200, does not cover abortions; however they have rejected every amendment to ban abortions from the Bill.

“A similar amendment offered by Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-Utah) to the Senate health care legislation banning federally funded abortions was rejected last week.”

The Obama administration includes it in its definition of reproductive health care. “Reproductive health care includes access to abortion.” (Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, July 19)

Senior Senator, Barbara Mikulski, on July 9, at a Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions-HELP-Committee meeting, stated the bill would include abortion coverage.

“Government insurance would allow coverage for abortion” (Associated Press, August 5, 2009)

Obama Health Care Plan Will Provide Taxpayer-Funded Abortion on Demand Congressmen Say
Wednesday July 15, 2009
By Penny Starr, Senior Staff Writer

(Condensed)

Pro-life House members from left Reps. Phil Roe (R-Tenn.)Bill Cassidy (R-La.)Phil Gingrey (R-Ga.)Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.)Virginia Foxx (R-N.C.)John Fleming (R-La.)Joe Pitts (R-Pa.)Jean Schmidt (R-Ohio)Tom Price (R-Ga.) and Mary Fallin (R-Okla.) (not seen) held a press conference on Tuesday in support of amending Obama’s health care plan to forbid the use of federal funds for abortions.

Democrats in both the House and the Senate want abortion be included as a health benefit in both government and private insurance plans leading to millions more abortions, a Republican lawmaker warned.

Taxpayer money would be used to pay for abortions in the government-run health care option.

But congressional Republicans strongly opposed to an abortion requirement in health care reform, are pushing for a ban on using taxpayer money to pay for such procedures.

On Tuesday, pro-life members of Congress said the plan’s approach to abortion is essentially the same as the Freedom of Choice Act, which would strip states’ right to limit abortion, establish abortion on demand across the country and allow federal funds to pay for the procedure.

“It’s really trying to pass the Freedom of Choice Act through this legislation and wipe out all state law — state law that abides by the Constitution abides by everything that was said by the Supreme Court under Roe v. Wade” Rep. Phil Gingrey (R-Ga.) said Tuesday at a Capitol Hill press conference.

“Despite the fact that large majorities of Americans don’t want to fund abortion, the Obama-Kennedy-Dingle bill will nevertheless force every taxpayer and every premium payer in the United States to pay for and facilitate every abortion in the country” Rep. Chris Smith (R-N.J.) said…

Rep. Chris Smith (R-N.J.) said Obama’s health care plan would result in millions more abortions.

Gingrey and Smith joined other pro-life members of Congress in support of Rep. Joe Pitts’ (R-Pa.) sponsorship of an amendment to the House version of Obama’s health care plan, which is slated for mark-up this week.

A similar amendment offered by Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-Utah) to the Senate health care legislation banning federally funded abortions was rejected last week.

Pitts, chairman of the House Values Action Team, said history shows that if legislation doesn’t include language to specifically exclude abortion, federal funds will be used, as was the case before Rep. Henry Hyde proposed the Hyde amendment to prohibit the use of taxpayer dollars to pay for abortions through Medicaid.

“This legislation will mandate and subsidize abortion and then tax Americans who stand for one of the very principles that this nation was founded on – the right to life” Pitts said.

Representatives at the conference said language specifically prohibiting the use of federal funds for abortion is also vital because of an “advisory committee” that will be responsible for determining what basic services will be included in the plan after it becomes law.

“The legislation vests new, huge, sweeping powers in an Obama-appointed committee tasked with establishing what is called essential health benefits that all plans must include” Smith said. “Of course all that comes after the enactment and the signing into law the legislation.”

Smith added that abortion will be included in those benefits.

“What we want to stress here is this benefits committee – which is unelected and there will be minimal oversight – when they put together their minimum benefits of which abortion absolutely will be included on demand” he said…

Rep. Mary Fallin (R-Okla.) called on President Obama to clarify his position on abortion being funded by federal dollars in his health care plan.
At the press conference, Rep. Mary Fallin (R-Okla.) called on President Obama to address the abortion aspect of his health care plan.

“If the president is serious about passing true health care reform, he needs to step up today and clarify his position” Fallin said. “In fact, I’m calling on the president today to clarify his position about whether he wants abortion to be included in his health care reform.

“The majority of Americans think that life is sacred and it begins at conception, and if this plan is not fixed to make it very clear that it will not fund abortion, I will not support his legislation” Fallin said.

When asked by CNSNews.com about the success of Pitt’s amendment, Pitt said aside from the pro-life Republicans who support it, some pro-life Democrats are speaking out against abortion being covered in the health care plan.

Representatives at the press conference said not only will the plan without Pitt’s amendment increase the number of abortions, but will likely also increase the number of abortion providers given language in the bill that calls for access to health care, which they said includes abortions as the bill now stands…
